15.75 inches of rain for March 2010
I guess with all the rain this month (15.75 inches) I can start growing mushrooms in the basement. My three pumps are going every two minutes, and one of the corners of the basement has a little bit of water on the surface of the floor. It will take months before all this water will be gone. The little pond down the street from us has a runoff that looks like a miniature Niagara Falls complete with mist coming off the rocks. Cars slow down to look at the view.
Good thing I have not planted anything in the garden yet, other than my lettuces in the cold frame and peas that were mostly covered during this latest rain.
Today I brought all my seedlings out even with temps in the mid 40's and it being cloudy. I figured they could use some fresh air. The more sensitive ones are covered in the portable cold frame and the tomatoes are in the mini greenhouse.
The rest of the week looks like it will be a winner with sun coming tomorrow and warm temperatures by Friday.
