Rainy Sunday
Although the weather isn't too nice, lots of rain and wind, I felt quite good about today, as I am doing some things for the garden that, I hope, will result in some nice end products. Today, I transplanted some very inexpensive beefeater tomatoes that I bought from American Seed for $.10 a pack. I planted six cells worth on March 1 and they already have their true leaves. I now have 18 transplanted beefeaters ready for some sun, come Tuesday. I also transplanted some chamommile plants that have grown very slowly so far in the other sun room (gets down to 50 at night). At the same time that I planted the tomatoes, I also planted some giant basil and those, too, are growing very nicely. I transplanted two into 2 inch pots to see how that works.
Finally, a while back I found some nice plastic containers that initially were $1 a piece and then went to $.50 a piece (I should have bought more). I am using them for my seed holders. Bob Thomson has recommended putting them in alpha order, but I find that putting them in category order (flowers, tomatoes, peas and beans) works better for me. Here is a photo of the little containers.
