Spring/Summer is here

It's been a while since last posting.  This is due more to the fact I was quite busy with other activities and just haven't had the time to get back on line and update.  I have been staying on top of things in the garden along the way, paying particular care with the weather.  As usual, there was one last minor frost right around the middle of May, but I was patient with my delicate plants and kept putting them inside at night.  The tomato plants that had wall of water protection had no damage whatsoever and continue to grow quite well.  The wall of water plastic is well worth the investment.  I have about 12 of them and have been very happy with how well they work and their durability.  I've only had two of them break down after 5 or so years of use.

The lettuce and spinach are a daily treat as they continue to grow and just about double in size.  The peas I started indoors are finally filling in and have pods on them, while the one I planted directly into the ground are flowering.  The second group of peas plants, which I planted about 2 weeks later are also doing well.

My potato plants, onions and broccoli are also doing very nicely.  The broccoli that was under the portable cold frame is starting to flower.  The little green worms that love to eat the broccoli leaves are on some of the plants, but have been easy to pick off.

I will post some photos in the next couple of days to show the progress we are making.  Today was a cold, rainy day,  but temps will be back up into the mid 70's for the rest of the week, so I am guessing we will be seeing a lot of growth very quickly.
