Back to the Future

 My newly initiated walking program began on May 2, when I was inspired to get back in the game and do what I do best, which is physical activity.  


I had fallen into a slump, thinking I am old and over the hill, as Covid and other "life" experiences produced a negative affect on my view of life.


Inspiration came from a source I had not connected with in over 40 plus years, who had been a positive influence on me back then.  The result was that I stopped feeling sorry about being old and got on my running (walking) shoes and got back on track (roads).  


Despite all my years of advising others how to run, how to set goals, how to focus and how to build confidence, I failed to deliver that same advice to myself.


So, my new journey has started out well, as I build back up and surpass previous walking accomplishments.  I have been consistent, getting out early in the morning for the first of my two daily walks and sticking to it, even dodging some rain once and in while.  


The weather has been superb for the most part, with cool mornings and cool evenings.  Only the flies have been a problem on some of the walks going through the woods.
