Hot and Heavy
It is somewhat difficult to do the things I would like to do when the temperature tops out at 90º+ more often than not. Walking in this weather is not much fun, or healthy for someone my age. Getting up early hasn't been much help as it is already in the mid to high 70's and the humidity is hanging heavy. But I am still getting out there and then try to put in a second walk after dinner, where temps are still in the 80's, but less of an issue with the sun and humidity.
This weather has also pretty much eliminated any ability to keep the garden weed free. Yes, the Bermuda grass has won again. No matter how hard I try, the weeds and the Bermuda grass take over. The heat and humidity have also caused some damage to the vegetables as bugs have been having a field day. I am still able to pick a few tomatoes here and there, and I am waiting to see if the newly planted peas will flower before too long.
Cutting the lawn 3 times a week is now a regular routine and that also requires doing edging and weed whacking. Oh, so much fun.
Organizing the garage is the latest objective, as I move things out of the basement. I have gotten tired of looking for tools, first in the garage, then down in the basement, then back upstairs. You get the idea. So, I am hoping to put most of my tools in the garage in a nice and orderly fashion. Shelving is a must as we also store extra food, paper and other grocery items out there instead of cluttering up the kitchen and pantry.
Let's hope the temperatures begin to drop a bit making for better conditions to continue with projects yet to be completed.
